Our recent project – split system replacement in an apartment at Drummoyne.
Our team replaced the existing split system that was installed in 2004 with a new Mitsubishi Electric split system 6 kilowatt capacity unit.
Original split system was inefficient and noisy and due to its age we decided to replace it with the new split system. The indoor unit is located on the wall in the living room facing the small corridor with two bedrooms at the end. The plastic casing in the left bottom corner was installed to cover pipes, cables and drainage. Also due the specific layout of this apartment the standard self-flow drain wasn’t an option and we had to install a condensate water pump – a portable device that lifts the water and redirects it to the drain point.
The outdoor unit was lifted and mounted on rubber blocks to prevent the bottom part of the outdoor unit from rust and corrosion. Also the new Mitsubishi Electric split system takes almost 3 times less energy that the previously installed Panasonic unit. The main difference is that the physical dimensions of the outdoor unit are bigger than the original aircon but the noise level is much less so it can be barely heard.
